Atlanta, GA — The Carnegie Academy's Robin Capehart, Principal Fellow, facilitated two dynamic working groups at Atlanta Metropolitan State College (AMSC) on Friday, October 10, 2025. The sessions, held on the AMSC campus, brought together a cross section of campus representatives, all unified by a commitment to student retention and success.
The working groups focused on two pivotal areas:
Creating Career Pathways for Students: Participants collaborated to develop innovative strategies that empower students to connect their academic pursuits with meaningful career opportunities. By identifying key partnerships and resources, the group outlined actionable steps to support students from enrollment to employment.
Organizing and Operating a Successful Academic Advising Effort: Faculty, staff, and administrators worked together to reimagine academic advising at AMSC. The group shared best practices, explored data-driven approaches, and discussed how to deliver personalized guidance that meets the diverse needs of the student body.
“These sessions exemplify the power of collaboration and the importance of intentional planning in higher education,” said Robin Capehart. “AMSC’s commitment to student retention and career readiness is inspiring, and The Carnegie Academy is honored to support their ongoing efforts.”
The Carnegie Academy remains dedicated to partnering with colleges and universities nationwide, helping them build frameworks that foster student achievement, professional growth, and institutional excellence.
